SGTV Guideline 12: If He Doesn’t Give You A Romantic Gift On Special Occasions, Drop Him!
The reality is this, if a man loves you he’ll show it!…and the opportune time for him to do so is on special occasions such as your Birthday or Valentines Day.
Now what’s important is the type of gift as opposed to the price of the gift. So this is not a lesson on gold-digging.
The gift should be of a romantic nature, a piece of jewellery, a box of chocolates, a special bouquet, something that speaks love. He shouldn’t give you a laptop or a practical gift like a pots and pans set! If he does, it’s because he’s not in love with you and you might as well just end it. Breadcrumbs leads to bread and trust me, practical gifts do not lead to an engagement ring!
No love gifts given by a man means no love from the man. Period. When a man is in love he can’t help but offer you tokens of his love, weekends away, poetry, Valentine Cards…you get the picture….doesn’t matter how poor he is.
Now look out for the signs! A man who loves you will shower you all the time, he doesn’t have to wait for special occasions. You can feel it, just like the rays from the sun on your face. If you’re out, he wants to make sure that you’re well catered for, that your glass is full, that you’re having a good time. As he gets to know you, he’ll give you little things that are perfect for your personality! I remember once my boyfriend giving me the cutest teddy bear and telling me it reminded him of me, it’s the sweet stuff! A man in love just wants, can’t help himself, to give you things!…to express his love.
On the other hand, I once had a boyfriend that said to me ‘if you’re a good girl, I’ll take you out to dinner’…conditional love….as if you have to earn it. Men in love appreciate all the good in you, men who are not in love, see the bad.
So in summary, take note if the BF is giving you loveless gifts. Real love leaves clues. If he doesn’t, don’t waste another minute on him, move on to someone who matters.
